Principal’s Remarks

We welcome our newest Clyde Fliers with much enthusiasm!    I feel privileged to be the Principal of Clyde Elementary!  I am always excited and look forward to working with students, parents, and staff to make Clyde Elementary a place where students SOAR to success!

My commitment to our community is to lead the school with both passion and enthusiasm to ensure each child has a positive learning experience.  To accomplish this task, we continue to develop and enhance a school that:

Focuses on the “whole child”, Holds high academic standards, Involves parents and community in the school process, and Reflects the values of the community.

Arrival & Dismissal

Arrival

School begins at 8:50 a.m. Students can arrive at 8:30 a.m. Upon arrival, all students should report to their classrooms. Students should arrive at school no earlier than 8:30 a.m. Students who walk to school should not arrive before 8:30 a.m.—unless they are eating breakfast. Breakfast is served from 8:30 a.m.- 8:45 a.m.

Dismissal

To help with congestion both inside the school and in our parking lots, dismissal with be by grade level:

  •  Kindergarten will be dismissed at 3:15 out front
  • First Grade will be dismissed at 3:25 out front.
  • Second Grade will be dismissed at 3:20 out back by the playground
  • Third Grade will be dismissed at 3:30 out back by the playground

All students in grades K-1 walkers will exit through the front doors of the school. All students in grades 2-3 will exit through the back doors by the playground. Families that have students in both grade levels, students will exit through the front doors of the school. Students are expected to stay on the sidewalk and cross the street only with their parent/guardian, assisted by the crossing guard. Students who are being picked up must wait for an adult to get them on the sidewalk in front of the school. 

FOR SAFETY REASONS, CHILDREN WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO WALK THROUGH THE PARKING LOT INDEPENDENTLY—MUST BE ACCOMPANIED BY AN ADULT.

Students who ride a bus home will report to a designated area until their bus arrives at the school.
