Principal’s Remarks
Welcome to Green Springs School, “The Best School in the Universe!” We are one of two elementary schools within the Clyde-Green Springs Exempted Village School District and are located within the Village of Green Springs just off State Route 19. We serve approximately 440 students in grades three through five in eighteen homerooms. We have six sections of each grade level, housing all Clyde-Green Springs students in those three grade levels.
Our students are greeted by an experienced and dedicated staff. Beyond our general education teachers and classrooms, we offer special education services in an inclusive co-teaching setting, leveled resource rooms, and a multiple disabilities classroom. Students attend special classes in six areas: art, music, physical education, LRC, STEM, and technology. Students can also receive speech and language services, occupational therapy, and physical therapy.
Our school counselor facilitates a variety of programs to meet building and individual student needs. A gifted intervention specialist provides extended studies services to qualifying students in grades three through five in identified areas. Our school resource officer facilitates the D.A.R.E. program with all of our fifth grade classes. To promote extra responsibility, students may choose to complete applications to apply for several extra curricular activities such as Student Council, Safety Patrol, School Store Workers, and Flag Raisers.
Beyond academics, our building stresses character through the “Flier Four” with our students. Students actively learn to Be Respectful, Be Responsible, Be Kind, and Be a Problem Solver. Students learn how to apply the Flier Four during their school day. Student success is celebrated by all staff members throughout the year as we recognize students who learn to demonstrate these traits in a variety of ways. Our school culture is reinforced with students and staff through three core beliefs: Own It, Community, and My Story Counts.

Arrival & Dismissal
Arrival
Any student who walks or is dropped off should not arrive at school before 8:15.
These students should enter the building from the main entrance located in the front of the building. No students will be permitted in the building until 8:15 with the exception of those students eating breakfast.
Any student eating breakfast should enter at 8:05, but must report directly to the cafeteria. Students entering early for breakfast may not go to their classrooms before 8:15.
Students being transported to school by a bus will enter the building through the back entrance off of the bus loop at 8:15 or when their bus arrives.
Dismissal
Afternoon dismissal will begin at 3:10 and takes the cooperation of anyone picking a student up.
Anyone parking on the pickup loop should pull forward to the final available spot and should remain with your vehicle to continue pulling ahead to fill any empty spaces. Not pulling ahead will result in a traffic backup and frustration for anyone entering from the street. Students will exit the building through the west doors (facing Broadway) at the end of the building and make their way to awaiting rides along the pickup loop. No student may cross the pickup loop except at the crosswalk.
- Third grade walkers, bike riders, pick-up students, and their older siblings will exit through the west doors at 3:10.
- Fourth-grade walkers, bike riders, pick-up students, and their older siblings will exit through the west doors at 3:20.
- Fifth grade walkers, bike riders, and pick-up students will exit through the west doors at 3:30.
Bus riders will begin exiting the building directly to their buses between 3:12 and 3:30 as the buses arrive and are announced.
