Clyde-Green Springs School District

The Clyde-Green Springs Preschool Program is a developmentally appropriate program providing education services to typically developing children and children with special needs. The purpose of the Clyde-Green Springs Preschool Program is to provide a comfortable and enriching environment that respects each child’s qualities and nurtures development toward his or her full potential.

We believe that childhood is a series of firsts – first experiences, first friendships, first challenges, first hopes, first dreams, first surprises, and first successes – to be
celebrated by everyone. We believe parents and families are their child’s first and
primary teachers who work with other educators as partners. Children need time to be children to explore their environment with curiosity and discovery. Play is children’s work. Without play, there is no childhood.

The children in our preschool are members of a community that celebrates the
uniqueness of each child. Differing levels of ability, learning styles, and development are expected, appreciated, and used to design appropriate learning activities that are motivated by the child’s interests and individual growth.

A blending of children, families, and staff to create a nurturing environment for those we serve is a major focus throughout the program. The contributions of all are valued as we work together to give children time to fully celebrate childhood.
