Career Readiness Program Overview
Entrepreneurship Class

Students can take an Entrepreneurship class based on the Dave Ramsey curriculum, which teaches financial literacy and business skills. This course fosters an entrepreneurial mindset and prepares students for future business ventures.
Career-Based Instruction Program

The Career-Based Instruction (CBI) program provides students with real-world work experience while still in high school. Students in this program are required to maintain employment, developing essential workplace skills while balancing academics.
Sophomore Block Format

The Sophomore Block format provides 10th-grade students with a structured and integrated learning experience. This format helps students navigate their academic and career goals with added support and career exploration opportunities.
Work-Based Learning Opportunities

Juniors and seniors participate in monthly job shadowing experiences, completing as many shadows as they are interested in throughout the program.
These experiences allow students to explore various career fields, gain hands-on exposure, and connect with professionals in different industries.
Job shadows and field trips expose students to different career paths, helping them make informed decisions about their futures.
Senior internships provide in-depth, real-world experience in a specific career field, enhancing students’ resumes and professional connections.
Workforce & Career Preparation
Students will gain essential skills to prepare for future careers, including:
Taking a career assessment to identify strengths and interests.

Learning how to write resumes and cover letters.

Participating in job interview training, including mock interviews with local businesses.

Exploring higher education options, including trade schools, apprenticeships, and military careers.

Recognizing Student Achievement
The Career Readiness program highlights students who demonstrate exceptional dedication to their career development. These are students who:
- Show initiative and professionalism during job shadows and internships.
- Take on leadership roles in workplace settings.
- Excel in hands-on learning experiences and career preparation activities.
- Go beyond classroom requirements to gain real-world experience.
